My name is Spencer Lone Fight

I am a citizen of the Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara Nation (Three Affiliated Tribes) on my mother’s side and Muscogee Creek on my father’s side. My mother is Lisa Lone Fight, and my father is William Harjo-Lone Fight. I have lived on the Sisseton-Wahpeton Reservation, the Wind River Reservation, Oklahoma, and now the Tuscarora Indian Nation Reservation. I am a singer for the Wind River based “Scout River” drum group, and I dance northern traditional style.

I am also an environmental professional seeking to better the world through my work. I have learned how government offices work, and the differences between tribal governments, state governments, and the federal government approach many of the same environmental problems. One particularly potent tool that can be used is spatial analysis, with its ability to combine place and data to creation useful information for anyone that can read a map.
